Day 56

It was rain in the morning, and all day wet looking. We took early lunch and could worked a little bit in the afternoon. We put up some more collar ties. Now we needed to do at the open space. Also first few of them is on the basement hole... We put up as much as possible from second floor. Then lay a long extension ladder from first floor to the collar tie we just nailed in which is above the basement hole. It was very high... Actually the other day I spit on the basement secretly from up stairs to check the height. It took a while to hear the sound. Anyway, after we climb up and down the long ladder few times, we did it. It was not so difficult. Just scared.

今日は朝から雨が降り、やんだ後も一日中じっとりしていた。お昼ご飯をはやめに食べ、午後から少し作業できた。さらにカラータイを取り付ける作業。すぐに吹き抜け部分に到達してしまった。最初の何本かは地下室への穴の上なのでものすごく高い。できるだけ二階からつけ、その後、つけたばかりのカラータイに一階から延長梯子を立てかける。実は先日高さを確かめるためにひそかに二階から地下室まで唾をたらしてみた。音が聞こえるまでえらくかかる。ま、ともかく、その長いはしごを上がったり降りたりを何度か繰り返し、しばらくはこれでいけそう。全然難しくはないけれど、ただ恐ろしい。
