Day 32

You can't see much progress here in the photo. But please focus on the top part. We got rim board. This house is getting solid. While we can fix or add, think about sheet rock (interior wall). You need to screw sheet rock every 16 inches . So the place we don't have anything to attach, we need to add block.

この写真からはあまり違いが見えませんが、この上の方をよく見てください。リムボードがつきました。だいぶ家らしくなってきた。まだ直したり付け足したりできるうちに内装の壁になるシートロックという石膏ボードみたいなやつの取り付けを考える。１６インチごとに壁にねじで止めていくため止める場所がないところにブロックを打ち付けていく。

This is on top of dining room wall. Since this is an open area, we don't have I joists. We made a long box with 2 2x6, and 2 2x10 there. So we can make roof all together. We want the box to be flush to other place which will be the hight of I joist + OSB(floor board) + 2x6. So we trimmed 2x10 half inch narrower. We put insolation there and about to finish closing this box, we realized that we should shear top 2x6 with side to tie them together.... We caught it.... but need to take off the top 2x6 and redo later. Usually we catch something wrong before it get too late, but it always kind of late. I wish we can realize before start....

これはダイニングの壁。吹き抜けになるのでIジョイストがない。ほかと同じように屋根をつけていくために２x６と２x１０で箱を作る。隣のIジョイスト＋OSB＋２x６と同じ高さになるように２x１０は少し細くする。できた箱に断熱材を入れ、２x６でほぼ閉じ終わった頃に、またしても気付いてしまった。最後の２x６はぶれないように隣と共有して打ち付けるべきやった。後で忘れないようにやり直さなければ。いつも、まだやり直しがきく頃に気がつくのはいいけど、微妙に遅すぎてよけいな作業が増える。始める前に気がつけばな〜。
