Dear our neighbors

We made fence for our closest neighbors, Mr and Mrs Cows. We heard they are going to move in soon. Please don't attack our house.

牛男さん、牛子さん、あなたたちのためにフェンスを作っておきましたよ。近々引っ越してこられるとお聞きしました。うちの家壊さないでね。

Day 7, in the morning.

Finally our basement was unveiled. It was beautiful mysterious gray skin with metal charms.

ついに地下室の壁がミステリアスな灰色と金属のポッチをお披露目しました。

Day 7, in the afternoon

We knocked out metal pieces that sticking out from wall with hummer. And Started a tar party! Thank you for joining us to do this dirty work.

壁から突き出していた金属を金槌でたたき落としたら、タールパーティーの始まりです。汚い作業にご参加ありがとうございます。
We wear crappiest cloths we have. I got a pair of Japanese construction shoes for today. In Japan, I saw construction guys wear this, and jumping around in the site like ninja.

タンスにさえもしまってもらえないような服を着ての作業です。前回日本に帰ったときに手に入れた工事現場に兄ちゃんのはいている足袋靴は思ったよりもそこが薄かった。フレームを作るときにより活躍しそう。

We got a big black box. It looks like a metal surface. This work reminds me Japanese lacquer.

ブラックボックスが出来上がりました。表面は金属のギラツキ。タールの粘っこさとテレピン油（？）でしか落とせないところが漆の作業のよう。かぶれないので漆の作業より安心ですが。

country life

I heard our next door neighbor Mrs. cow did a moonlight flit. Well, maybe it was just a day dream walking.

We had a nice music picnic day, too.

となりに住んでる牛子さんが夜逃げしました。

近所の家で演奏会／ピクニック。久しぶりの完璧の晴れ間です。

Waiting day

We can't stop wondering around here...

今日はコンクリート工事の人たちが来れないとのことですが、やっぱりいても立ってもいられず遊びにきてしまいました。
Of course we signed on our wall.　

まだコンクリートの柔らかいときにしたサインもカチコチ。子供のときに遊んだアスレチック場みたい。
Our basement is like a play ground now. We set up our living room, too. Now you are welcome anytime.

友達から家具をもらってきてリビングルームの出来上がり。いつ訪ねてきてもらっても大丈夫です。

Day 6

They poured cement for the wall. It took 4 cement truck. it was after the rain. Good thing our driveway got gravel in time. They smoothed the top, and put L shape bolt in the end. We will attach wood boards there.

ついに壁にセメントを流し込みました。大きなセメントトラック４台。ぎりぎりドライブウェイの砂利が間に合ってよかった。雨の後で地面が柔らかく、砂利のないところでは一台しばらく動けなくなっていたそうな。流し込んだ後、表面をコテで滑らかにし、L字のボルトを埋め込みました。セメント工事が終ったら、最初の板をそこに固定する。
While they pour cement, the person on the ground hammer wall bang bang.

After they take out mold walls out side, dirty tar work is waiting for us. It makes wall water proof. Hmmm, I can't wait!

セメントを流し込んでいる間一人がハンマーで壁をバコバコたたいて空気を抜いて、セメントが全体に行き渡るようにする。壁の外枠がとれたら水が入ってこないようにするためのタール塗りという汚い作業が待ち受けています。あ〜楽しみ〜！
