Hail!

Crazy weather. We got hail first time in my life. It was very cute that white ice jumping in the grass with hard sound.

Right after the hail we got a perfect rainbow! One end is here.
And the other end is there! We will have a gold rush!

生まれて初めて雹を体験。大きいのはゴルフボールくらいの大きさ。バチバチと音をたてながら芝生の上をぽこぽこ飛んでちょっとコミカル。近くの家では車がベコベコにへこんだといっていました。そのすぐ後に晴れ間がでて、完璧なまでの虹が一つ。あっちの端もこっちの端も完全な形でした。一攫千金間近か？

Day 5

Start putting up walls for the basement. 9 feet wall feels taller than I imagined.

地下室の壁を建て始めました。薄い金属板で表と裏を支えて間に鉄筋を入れて補強します。すべて順序、接続の仕方が決まっていて、何とも手際よく壁を立てていきます。

Day 4

I found a stereoscope app for my cell phone. Trial shoot. Still need to adjust but working, I think. Please try if you have a stereoscope.

携帯でステレオスコープの写真を撮れるアプリを発見。試しに一枚。これで日本からでも３Dの私たちの写真が見れます。
In the morning, before the rain start, we got gravel on our drive way! In this summer trucks will tighten the drive way up.

昨日はトラックが壊れて来れなかった砂利おじさん。今朝、雨が降る前に間に合いました。これで大きなトラックがきても大丈夫。
Concrete people also came. Footage is already hard. Started putting mold for the wall. Looked like he is enjoying a fishing game.

側壁を作るための枠。トラックの先についているクレーンで魚釣りゲームのようにひとつずつおろしていきます。雷鳴がとどろき、雨が降り出し今日はおしまい。

Day 3

They brought a tool. It was very hot day. But they finish digging, spread gravel. Afternoon they pour cement. They put some iron stick, and this will be footage.

やっぱり人間には道具が必要ですね。柱が立つ部分にセメントがしかれ、最後に鉄筋を縦にさして今日はおしまい。

Day 2

After one day from digging, the ground was already so hard like a brick. They needed something better to dig lines here. Prepared some pipes for plumbing.

昨日穴を掘ったところなのに既に地面はガチンコ。備えがなかったようで今日はあまり進まず。パイプを買いにいき、排水工事に備えます。自分たちでする予定でしたが、あまりに地面が固いので誰かに頼みます。基礎としてはいい土ですけどね。

Evening we came back with visiter. Fred and Pat are in the movie "In Broad Daylight" as extras. It is about one crime happened the town called Skidmore where they are from. Skidmore is not far from here, I would like to visit sometime soon.

近くの湖でキャンプをしているテキサスの親戚が遊びにきました。フレッドとパットはこの近くのスキッドモアという町出身。昔あったKen McElroy事件の生き証人です。その話が映画化され、テキサスで撮影があったときにエキストラとして参加、また詳細がわからなくて困っていたディレクターの思わぬ助っ人になったそうです。

Day 1st!

First step. We got a basement hole ready! It was fun to watch how one person made a big hole so quick.

待ちに待った工事が始まりました。まだ私たちの出番はないですが、工事のお兄さんの土さばきに感心しながら一緒に働いている気分で鑑賞。表面の土は栄養分がたくさんあるので、また表面に戻せるように別山に分けてもらいました。
He made one mountain for nice surface soil which goes back to top again. Another mountain is made of clay.

Drive way

We got a nice snake drive way in between trees.

ドライブウェイは昔のハイウェイを使った木々の間を抜けるゆるいS字カーブ。
